This past week has been huge! Our 2015 Epson AIPP WA Professional Photography Awards were on. For the first time I was honoured to be a part of the judging panel. It was such a privilege to be a part of this exciting process and I can’t wait to do it again next year!
This year I entered 8 images, 4 in Portrait and 4 in Family Portrait. I’m pretty proud to say my track record of receiving an award for every image entered still stands, an achievement a lot harder than it sounds. I received 4 Silver awards and 3 Silver with Distinction awards.
It’s no secret however that I’ve been chasing a Gold award. For the past 5 years I have received numerous Silver and Silver with distinction awards, yet the Gold award has remained just out of reach. Until now. I was literally jumping and shaking with excitement when my favourite image was awarded not just a Gold, but Gold with Distinction award, the highest possible award to achieve, one of only 6 out of over 650 prints entered. This image, affectionately termed “fish girl” is one of a series of images I’ve captured to launch my newest and most exciting product. The Whimsical Session. We are having a big launch & fundraiser this Saturday at Westfield Carousel, so keep an eye out for all the information tomorrow!
And there was better news to come! I was once again awarded the title of Professional Family Photographer of the Year! To win this title back to back two years running in the category I’m most passionate about. Well – squueeeee!
Thank you to my completely awesome clients who allow me into their lives to capture these hart warming images. Thank you.
